Amen
05:41
|
|||
There is this dream I have sometimes
Not sure what it says about my mind
It always seems to last an eternity
I'm on a school trip somewhere
I sign up for an optional adventure
And soon I am secreted away by my family
I'm trapped in a room full of strangers
Everywhere you look there's danger
We're all assigned different tasks by strange aliens.
Soon there emerge hierarchies
Some are submerged in darkness
Others seem to be in on the whole thing
The plot thickens and keeps changing
Some are fed alive to ladies who seemed so nice just like you and me.
Their mouths slowly turn into pig snouts
People led in and then churned out
Usually there's some kind of complex conveyor belt.
I'm not sure about lucid dreaming
I always find that I'm scheming ways to dismantle the plot to enslave us.
Tell the orphans we're junk food
Remind them there're things they really wanna do
Organize a coup to save us
But usually the mutiny unravels in these endless fantasies
You can't escape the feast once its going down.
AMEN
In the end we're bags of water electrocuting ourselves
AMEN
Tell me friend, how did you sleep last weekend?
And I guess I really wanna say
When I disappeared that day I knew I'd always want to see you again
We were cruel and unforgiving
We get to keep on living
Knowing we'd hurt anyone even chosen friends.
It's like a light-bulb that burns out
Our focus becomes real it turns out
We all get to live with what happens next.
But don't let them make this political
Don't ever forget life's a miracle
Not a hallway of mirrors, money and broken bonds.
Don't let them assign your life meaning
Don't let them make you a meany
That's what I'd say if I ever got the nerve to call
AMEN
In the end we're bags of water electrocuting ourselves
AMEN
Tell me friend, how did you sleep last weekend?

Drama Mama
04:13
|

Drama Mama
You've been nothing but a Drama Mama
You've been sounding the alarm-a mama mama
Nothing but a Drama Mama
So the story goes
What do they even know
So the story goes
Will we ever know?
So they think they know
There's another way to go

Halo

Making it out ok, tho
Finally found your halo
Jumping around all day
Oh, just let it last

River
07:18
|
|||
All the things you thought you'd need are leaving you
All the things you thought you'd seen affected by your point of view
You gotta get thru a river of tears to find your bliss
You gotta face down thousands of fears to get thru this
All the things you'll ever need are flowing away from and towards you
All the dreams you've ever seen let it change your point of view
They're gonna hold you
Unburden you
It's all flowing thru you
Let it hold you
Let it find you
And love is no poison
What are you avoiding?

Teenage Trees
04:56
|
|||
Leaves fall from trees
That's just their way
Flying all day
I fall down
My heart will fly
My knees are scratched
We've been torn apart
We'll get by
We learn from pain
Our hearts won't be the same
We fall like rain
Our hearts won't be the same
We learn to die
Some days will be like this

Samsara
06:58
|
|||
To live in the moment like a shiver softly moans
To flow ever onward, inward, outward, upward
To keep breathing like moonlight inside a tide
To laugh
Bittersweet
Effort Repose
Floating away from the self
Drifting back in
Home
Keep your empathy the line will twist and turn
We stand on our heads we view the world in reverse
A thought, a whisper, a whole universe
We lose our heads
But remember last year we went down to the lake
Remember always the owl and the bear
Samsara
We're born to wonder, we live thru what we're shown
Alone together we dance to the unknown
Lost in the moment of a life that shifts and grows
And in the end what is there?
Is there just silence?
Or maybe love
Love will set you free
Set you free
Love is all you need
