There is this dream I have sometimes
Not sure what it says about my mind
It always seems to last an eternity

I'm on a school trip somewhere
I sign up for an optional adventure
And soon I am secreted away by my family
I'm trapped in a room full of strangers
Everywhere you look there's danger
We're all assigned different tasks by strange aliens.

Soon there emerge hierarchies
Some are submerged in darkness
Others seem to be in on the whole thing
The plot thickens and keeps changing
Some are fed alive to ladies who seemed so nice just like you and me.
Their mouths slowly turn into pig snouts
People led in and then churned out
Usually there's some kind of complex conveyor belt.

I'm not sure about lucid dreaming
I always find that I'm scheming ways to dismantle the plot to enslave us.
Tell the orphans we're junk food
Remind them there're things they really wanna do
Organize a coup to save us

But usually the mutiny unravels in these endless fantasies
You can't escape the feast once its going down.

When I disappeared that day I knew I'd always want to see you again
We were cruel and unforgiving
We get to keep on living
Knowing we'd hurt anyone even chosen friends.

It's like a light-bulb that burns out
Our focus becomes real it turns out
We all get to live with what happens next.

But don't let them make this political
Don't ever forget life's a miracle
Not a hallway of mirrors, money and broken bonds.

Don't let them assign your life meaning
Don't let them make you a meany
That's what I'd say if I ever got the nerve to call
